On September 14, local time, the Sudan Sovereign Council issued a statement stating that several areas in the White Nile State in central Sudan were subjected to a large-scale drone attack in the early hours of the same day. The statement mentioned that the Um Dabak power station, the Kanana civilian airport, and a fuel depot in the White Nile State were targeted in the attack, causing severe damage to local infrastructure. The statement accused the Sudan Rapid Support Forces of carrying out the attack, but did not specify if there were any casualties. The Rapid Support Forces have not yet responded to these accusations. On April 15, 2023, armed clashes erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the capital city of Khartoum, spreading to other regions thereafter. The ongoing armed conflicts for over two years have resulted in nearly 30,000 deaths and over 12 million people being displaced.
