The main stream of the West Liao River will once again achieve full flow within the year.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, on September 13th at 23:00, the flood dispatching of the West Liao River during the flood season made significant progress, as the water supply from the main stream of the river connected with the existing downstream water surface. The main stream of the West Liao River achieved full-flow again this year, resulting in effective improvement of the ecological environment in the basin. Since 2020, China has continued to implement ecological water replenishment, leading to the gradual extension of water-filled sections of the West Liao River. In spring this year, for the first time in 27 years, the main stream of the West Liao River, which had been dry for so long, achieved full-flow.
