On September 13, Geng Hongzhou, first-level inspector of the Market Operations and Consumer Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce, stated at the 2025 China Automobile Industry Development International Forum that the thorough implementation of the automobile "old for new" policy has effectively promoted the growth of automobile consumption, industrial upgrading, and resource management. As of September 10, the number of applications for the "old for new" policy for cars since the beginning of the year has reached 8.3 million.
