Longjit Environmental Protection (600388.SH) plans to invest in the construction of the Congo (Kinshasa) Kalengeng Hydropower Station project.
Update from the Securities Times app, Longjing Environmental Protection (600388.SH) has released an announcement. The Kairoken Hydroelectric Power Station is located on the Lualaba River in the Haut Lomami province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, 200km away from the location of Zijin Mining's subsidiary in the Congo. There is a huge gap in electricity supply in the DRC, with noticeable power shortages in the Kolwezi area. The company's wholly-owned subsidiary Zijin Longjing has acquired 80% of the shares of the project company in the DRC through its wholly-owned subsidiary Longjing Hong Kong, obtaining the development rights for the 140MW Kairoken Hydroelectric Power Station project in the DRC. The total investment in the project is approximately $399 million, which is planned to be self-funded by the company.
