Ministry of Finance: It is estimated that the national financial education expenditure during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period will exceed 25 trillion yuan.

Guo Tingting, deputy minister of the Ministry of Finance, said at the press conference that the overall level of education of the population continues to improve. By the end of 2024, the proportion of national fiscal education expenditure to GDP has been maintained at over 4% for more than ten consecutive years. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the national fiscal education expenditure is expected to exceed 25 trillion yuan, an increase of around 38% compared to the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. The level of education at all levels in China has reached or exceeded the level of middle and high-income countries. By 2024, the consolidation rate of compulsory education will reach 95.9%, and the gross enrollment rate of higher education will exceed 60%. The average years of education for the working-age population will reach 11.21 years, an increase of 0.41 years compared to the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period.
