The second phase of the Guangdong Eastern Water Resources Optimization Project has achieved full line connection with the completion of the tunnel.

On the 12th, the second phase tunnel of the Guangdong East Water Resources Optimization and Allocation Project, with a total investment of 10.1 billion yuan, achieved full completion. The project is expected to start water delivery in 2026, providing an average annual increase of 311 million cubic meters of water for over 8.5 million people in cities including Shantou.
