Citi Group has appointed senior banker Li Shan as the chairman of Japan, North Asia, and Australia, based in Hong Kong. Li Shan has previously held important leadership and advisory positions in global and regional financial institutions, including Credit Suisse, UBS, and BOCI. An internal memo from Citi shows that Li Shan will play a crucial role in providing advice and insights to Chinese clients and multinational companies planning to expand in China. A spokesperson for Citi confirmed the contents of the memo.
