Namibia plans to raise $1.7 billion to build an African "green hydrogen hub".
The three-day Second Global Africa Hydrogen Summit came to a close on September 11 in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Participants discussed and negotiated around hydrogen energy financing innovation, infrastructure construction, community benefits, and the promotion of more than 50 feasible hydrogen energy projects. James Muyupe, Namibia's Green Hydrogen Affairs Commissioner, announced at the meeting on the 10th that Namibia plans to raise about $1.7 billion for the start-up and construction of various hydrogen energy projects, transforming renewable resources into industrial productivity, and ultimately transforming itself into the "Green Hydrogen Hub" of Africa.
