Head of the Department of Commerce's World Trade Organization (WTO) Office explains the "Work Plan for Supporting Beijing to Pilot the WTO's Electronic Commerce Agreement"

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce, the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued the "Work Plan to Support Beijing in Pilot Implementation of the WTO Electronic Commerce Agreement". The head of the Department of WTO Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce interpreted the "Work Plan". The Ministry of Commerce stated that in order to promote the early implementation of the agreement, the Ministry of Commerce, together with the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Administration of Customs, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, selected Beijing to pilot the agreement, jointly formulated the "Work Plan", supported Beijing in implementing related measures, and strived to generate a number of institutional innovation achievements, summarize good practices in digital trade policy that can be replicated and promoted, lay the foundation for testing the agreement nationwide, demonstrate China's determination to expand high-level opening-up to the international community, and provide useful references for other countries to implement the agreement.
