On September 11th local time, a Boeing 737-700 aircraft belonging to Southwest Airlines experienced an engine failure shortly after takeoff from Hollywood Burbank Airport in California, USA. The aircraft was originally bound for Phoenix, Arizona, but had to divert to Los Angeles after the malfunction. Southwest Airlines stated in a press release that they would arrange alternative flights for passengers to Phoenix and confirmed that the aircraft had safely taxied to the gate at Los Angeles International Airport.
