Lagarde: The impact of trade agreements will take time to become clear.
European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said that the economy grew by 0.7% in the first half of the year, thanks to the resilience of domestic demand. "The quarterly trend shows stronger growth in the first quarter and a slowdown in the second quarter, partly reflecting the early release of international trade before the expected tariff increase. This effect has since reversed," Lagarde said, adding that the impact of trade agreements will only gradually become clearer.
