The pressure of American tariffs is immense, so Quebec aluminum exports are finding a new way through Europe.
According to the information obtained from the Wisdom Finance App, due to the impact of the increase in US tariffs, aluminum producers in Quebec, Canada have seen a significant increase in the cost of exporting aluminum products to American customers. As a result, they are now shifting more aluminum products used in the manufacturing of cans and automotive parts towards the European market. Data from S&P Global Market Intelligence shows that in the second quarter of this year, the US share of aluminum exports from Quebec has dropped from 95% in the first quarter to 78%, while the share in Europe has soared from 0.2% to 18%.
