Singapore adjusts cabinet layout in key areas.

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong held a press conference on the 21st to announce the personnel changes in the new cabinet, aiming to enhance governance in the four key areas of economy, national security, public services, and social policies to deal with global economic and geopolitical uncertainties. Lee Hsien Loong stated that Heng Swee Keat would continue to serve as Deputy Prime Minister, coordinating economic affairs, and also serving as the Chairman of the Singapore Economic Recovery Taskforce and the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Lawrence Wong, Chan Chun Sing, and Ong Ye Kung were appointed as Coordinating Ministers, responsible for national security, public services, and social policies respectively. In the economic sector, Lee Hsien Loong would continue to lead the Ministry of Finance, Heng Swee Keat would remain as Minister for Trade and Industry, and Chan Chun Sing would focus on energy and technology affairs while continuing to serve as Minister for Manpower. In terms of security and foreign affairs, Lawrence Wong would continue as Minister for Home Affairs; Chan Chun Sing would serve as Minister for Defence; and Vivian Balakrishnan would remain as Minister for Foreign Affairs. In social affairs, Ong Ye Kung would be appointed as Minister for Health, Lawrence Wong as Minister for Education, and Desmond Lee would continue as Minister for Social and Family Development.
