In May 1-18, nationwide retail sales of passenger cars increased by 12% year-on-year and by 18% compared to the previous month.

The China Passenger Car Association released data showing that from May 1 to May 18, the national retail sales of passenger cars reached 932,000 units, an increase of 12% compared to the same period last year, and an 18% increase from the previous month. The cumulative retail sales this year have reached 7.804 million units, an 8% increase compared to last year. In the same period, the national retail sales of new energy passenger cars reached 484,000 units, a 32% increase compared to the same period last year, and a 15% increase from the previous month. The retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in the national market is 52%, and the cumulative retail sales this year have reached 3.808 million units, a 35% increase compared to last year.
