Huang Renxun: US export controls on AI to China have failed.
NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun stated on the 21st that the US export control on artificial intelligence to China has failed. Huang Renxun said at an event in Taipei that NVIDIA's market share in mainland China has dropped from 95% when former US President Biden took office to the current 50%. Regarding the AI restrictions imposed by the US, Huang Renxun frankly stated that this strategy is "completely wrong" and "if the goal of the restrictions is to ensure the US maintains its leadership, then according to the current regulations, this will instead lead to us losing our lead". Huang Renxun particularly emphasized that mainland China's development in the field of AI is very outstanding, "you cannot stop them, you cannot prevent them from advancing in AI development. Face reality, DeepSeek is a very outstanding product. If you do not recognize this, it shows a severe lack of confidence, and it even makes me unable to bear it". Huang Renxun also said, "Anyone who thinks that by banning the sale of H20 chips to mainland China, they can cut off mainland China's ability to develop AI is very ignorant".
