The Trump Group Vietnam Golf Club project has begun construction, coinciding with trade negotiations between the two countries.
According to media reports, an invitation letter shows that the Trump Group and its Vietnamese partners will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for a luxury golf resort near the capital Hanoi on Wednesday. The organizers stated that the Vietnamese government approved the project plan last week, and Eric Trump, son of US President Trump, will attend the ceremony. This comes as the Southeast Asian country is negotiating with Washington to avoid punitive tariffs. The developers said the $1.5 billion project is expected to be completed by 2027 and will include three 18-hole golf courses and a residential complex, with the possibility of additional investments worth billions of dollars. The invitation letter shows that the local government of Vinh Phuc province has also invited Vietnamese leaders to attend. It is currently uncertain whether they will attend. In addition, Vietnam's official news agency reported that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will participate in a groundbreaking ceremony in Vinh Phuc province on Wednesday, but did not specify the exact project.
