Inter-Ministerial Joint Meeting on Compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention held in Beijing

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, on May 21st, the seventh plenary meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference on Compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention was held in Beijing. The meeting emphasized the need to effectively coordinate national compliance work, strengthen the construction of compliance work systems, better utilize the joint conference system, enhance coordination between departments and provinces, and establish a nationwide compliance framework. It is necessary to conscientiously implement compliance work, meticulously handle key compliance tasks such as international inspections, destruction of abandoned chemical weapons, and prevention of proliferation, promote the revision of the Regulations on the Management of Chemicals, prevent and resolve compliance risks, and achieve high-quality development and high-level safe and benign interaction. Efforts should be made to strengthen the compliance team and improve compliance capabilities, providing strong talent support for deepening participation in international compliance exchanges and cooperation.
