SoftBank Group Corporation will raise funds for its investments in the field of artificial intelligence through a loan, with Mizuho Bank Ltd., Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. serving as lead underwriters. This move shows that the Japanese technology investor has the ability to secure financing for its ambitious plans. The one-year, $15 billion transitional loan will be provided by 21 banks, including $1.35 billion from Mizuho Bank, $1.25 billion from Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, and $1 billion from JPMorgan Chase. Additionally, HSBC Holdings plc and Barclays Bank jointly provide $950 million, and seven banks including Goldman Sachs Group, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, and Crdit Agricole collectively provide $850 million.
