State Railway Administration: This year, the volume of passenger and freight transportation on the China-Laos railway has doubled.

Since the beginning of this year, the passenger and freight transport of the China-Laos Railway has shown strong growth. As of May 19, the China-Laos Railway has sent over 8 million passengers and transported more than 9.1 million tons of goods, both achieving year-on-year growth. In terms of freight, the China-Laos Railway has transported over 9.1 million tons of goods since the beginning of this year, a 27% year-on-year increase, including over 2.21 million tons of cross-border goods, a 10% year-on-year increase. Fresh products such as durian and mangosteen from Southeast Asia are entering China quickly through the "Lanmei Express" cold chain dedicated train, with transportation time reduced by 60% compared to road transport.
