South Africa has made a final ruling on safeguard measures for imported flat rolled products and has decided to impose safeguard measures tax.
On May 16, the WTO issued a notification that the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa made a final ruling on the safeguard measures case for flat-rolled products of iron, non-alloy steel or other alloy steel, deciding to impose safeguard measures taxes on the products involved, with tax rates of 13% in the first year, 11% in the second year, and 9% in the third year, with a duration of 3 years. These safeguard measures do not apply to oriented silicon electrical steel.
