On May 20th, the Ministry of Water Resources held a consultation meeting to analyze and assess the situation of rainfall and flood prevention, and to arrange targeted measures to prevent and respond to heavy rainfall. A notice was issued to relevant provincial water resources departments and basin management agencies, requesting the implementation of defense responsibilities and detailed defense measures, and to fully ensure the safety of people's lives and property during this round of heavy rainfall prevention and response. First, closely monitor weather changes and the development of rainfall, water levels, and flood situations, strengthen monitoring and forecasting, conduct rolling consultations and assessments, and timely release warning information. Second, strengthen the safety of reservoirs during flood season, strictly implement the "three responsibilities" and "three key points" of reservoir management, and focus on inspecting and defending small and medium-sized reservoirs and damaged reservoirs. Third, do a good job in preventing floods in small and medium-sized rivers and mountain torrents, implement warning and evacuation measures, and focus on the five key steps of "who organizes, who evacuates, when to evacuate, where to evacuate, and no return without authorization". Fourth, implement flood control measures for ongoing water conservancy projects to ensure the safety of construction personnel and ongoing projects.
