Hisense hired a former executive from Xiaomi who was dissatisfied with being squeezed out of the top four in the air conditioning sector.

On May 20, a representative from Hisense Group confirmed that Yin Bitong, former Vice President of Midea Group and President of the Air Conditioning Business Unit, officially became the President of Hisense Air Industry on the evening of May 19. Currently, Hisense Air Industry is under Hisense Home Appliances, responsible for Hisense Group's industry and brand related to air conditioning. From a competitive perspective, Xiaomi Group's market share in the domestic air conditioning market has been rising rapidly, ranking fourth in online sales in China last year. Previously, Midea, Gree, Haier, and Hisense were the top four in the overall domestic air conditioning market. This move to bring in "foreign aid" reflects Hisense's unwillingness to be pushed out of the top four in the domestic household air conditioning market.
