China Nuclear Energy Technology Corporation Limited (01763.HK): The first batch of carbon-14 isotope products from Zhonghe QinTong successfully listed on the market.

The Zhongtong Finance and Economics APP reported that China Isotope Company Limited (01763.HK) has announced that its subsidiary, China Isotope and Radiation Corporation's Qinshan Isotope Co., Ltd. (Qinshan Isotope), successfully shipped the first batch of carbon-14 isotope products on May 16, 2025. This marks the completion of the entire industrial chain from independent research and development, independent production to market supply of commercial reactor-produced carbon-14 isotopes in China. The carbon-14 isotope products launched this time were produced by the first domestically designed and constructed industrial production line for barium carbonate [14C] by Qinshan Isotope, with a designed annual capacity of 200 curies/year. The production line utilizes highly efficient dry methods for extraction, with advantages such as high production efficiency, high level of equipment automation, thorough extraction of raw materials, low impurities in the product, and minimal radioactive waste. At present, Qinshan Isotope has completed the purification processing of 10 curies, with an activity of 290mCi/g and a radiochemical purity of 99.9%, reaching international advanced level. After the handover of the initial batch of products, subsequent processing production and sales will be carried out according to market demand.
