On the 17th, the Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that the highest temperature in several areas of Sindh Province reached 48C that day. In a hospital in the provincial capital Karachi, the emergency department has been receiving 1400 to 1500 new patients every day in recent days, most of whom are experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea, all related to the unusually high temperatures.
