The meeting of the working group under the fourth study group of the radio communication department of the International Telecommunication Union was held.

The 4th Study Group of the Radiocommunication Department of the International Telecommunication Union held working group meetings 4A, 4B, and 4C from April 23 to May 16 in Shanghai. The meeting focused on topics such as the allocation of new frequencies for satellite services, improving rules and procedures for satellite service areas and authorized use, fair use of satellite radio frequencies, mobile satellite direct connection, coexistence and development of high and low orbit satellites, sustainable development in space, satellite communication manuals, standardization of 5G and 6G satellite technology, and satellite Internet of Things. Over 400 papers were submitted by various countries, resulting in a large number of outcome documents. Out of the 38 papers submitted by the Chinese delegation, all were accepted. Some outcome documents were reviewed by the three working groups and resulted in 1 revised recommendation, 3 new project reports, 3 revised report books, and 1 revised manual for submission to the SG4 meeting for approval. Other outcome documents will be further studied and improved in future working group meetings. Several Chinese experts served as co-chairs and drafting group chairs for sub-working groups on important topics such as the revision of space business rules and mobile satellite direct connection, further enhancing China's participation in the international regulations research for satellite services.
