Minister of Transport Guan Zhao: Steadily carry out the electric separation mode and pilot demonstration of new energy heavy-duty truck transportation.

Guo Zhao, deputy director of the Transport Service Department of the Ministry of Transport, stated today that as of now, a total of 6527 service areas with charging parking spaces have been completed nationwide, with 35,000 charging piles and 51,000 charging parking spaces. This accounts for 98% of the total number of service areas on highways. In the next step, the Ministry of Transport will conscientiously implement the guiding opinions of 10 departments on promoting the integrated development of transportation and energy, relying on major projects such as the new land and sea channels in the western regions, the Jiangmen external transportation channel, and the expansion and renovation of the national highway mainline, to create a model of near-zero emission transportation corridors. Guidance will be given to various regions to steadily promote the electric separation mode of heavy-duty electric trucks and pilot demonstrations of new energy heavy-duty truck transportation, actively exploring new scenarios and models for the application of new energy heavy-duty trucks, focusing on advantage scenarios such as port short-haul and branch line freight transportation, and fixed line fixed vehicle type trunk freight routes.
