On Saturday local time, US President Trump stated that retail giant Walmart needs to stop "trying to blame tariffs" after the company announced that its products will increase in price. Walmart's CEO claimed that the price increase is due to Trump's "excessive" tariffs. In response, Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday, saying, "Walmart should 'eat the tariffs' as people say and not charge any fees to their esteemed customers. I will be watching you and so will your customers!" Walmart stated in a release on Saturday, "We have always been committed to keeping prices as low as possible and will not stop this effort. Given the reality of slim retail profit margins, we will do our best to keep prices low for as long as possible within our means."
