Trump angrily rebuked Walmart for shouldering the tariffs, Walmart said it will try to maintain low prices as much as possible.

On Saturday local time, US President Trump stated that the retail giant Walmart needs to stop "trying to blame tariffs" after the company announced that its products will be increasing in price. Walmart's CEO stated that the price hikes are due to Trump's "excessive" tariffs. Trump responded on Saturday by posting on Truth Social: "Walmart should 'eat the tariffs' as people say, and not charge any fees to their valued customers. I will be watching, and so will your customers!" Walmart stated in a statement on Saturday: "We have always been committed to keeping prices as low as possible and will not stop this effort. Given the reality of minimal retail profit margins, we will strive to keep prices low for as long as we can within our means."
