Shanxi will see widespread high temperatures, with temperatures in many areas possibly reaching 40C, setting a new record high.

The meteorological station in Shanxi Province announced on the 17th that from May 19th to 21st, there will be widespread high temperatures in the province. In some areas, such as Xinzhou, Lvliang, Yangquan, Linfen, and Yuncheng, temperatures could reach 40C, exceeding historical records for the same period. The announcement stated that due to the combined influence of a high-pressure ridge and surface cyclones, from May 19th to 21st, the daily maximum temperatures in most of northern Shanxi and parts of central and southern Shanxi will exceed 35C, with a high risk of hot and dry winds in some areas of central and southern Shanxi.
