Ensuring water resources for irrigation in grain production, the national spring irrigation area has reached 360 million mu.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, as of mid-May, this year's national average precipitation is about 20% less than the same period in a normal year, and the main rivers have about 30% less water than usual at the same period. In order to ensure irrigation water for grain production, the Ministry of Water Resources has scientifically scheduled water projects, mobilized large and medium-sized irrigation areas, and strengthened water allocation in various river basin management agencies. Currently, the spring irrigation area in the country has reached 360 million mu, of which 5230 large and medium-sized irrigation areas have been initiated, irrigating 250 million mu. In drought-affected areas such as Shanxi, Henan, and Shaanxi provinces, 237 large and medium-sized irrigation areas have supplied over 1.7 billion cubic meters of water, irrigating an area of 15.7 million mu, overall ensuring irrigation water supply.
