Tunisian President Saied meets with Li Shulei.

On May 15th, Tunisian President Saied met with a delegation from the Communist Party of China led by Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department. Li Shulei conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping to President Saied. Li Shulei said that in May 2024, President Xi Jinping and President Saied jointly announced the establishment of a strategic partnership between China and Tunisia, charting a new blueprint for the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Tunisia to implement the important consensus reached by the two leaders, continue the traditional friendship, strengthen political mutual trust, enhance exchanges of governance experience, achieve more results in the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen cooperation in the fields of culture, academia, tourism, media, promote exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations, closely coordinate in international and regional affairs, and push the bilateral relationship to greater heights. President Saied asked Li Shulei to convey his best wishes to President Xi Jinping, expressing that Tunisia highly values the development of its relations with China, admires China's remarkable development achievements, appreciates China's important role in international affairs, thanks China for its strong support for Tunisia's economic and social development, and emphasizes Tunisia's adherence to the One-China principle, supporting China's efforts to achieve national reunification and safeguard core interests. Tunisia is willing to deepen strategic alignment with China, strengthen cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, culture, health, and infrastructure, work closely together, and benefit the people of both countries.
