On the morning of May 16, Dreamworld announced that it plans to sell no more than 100.2528 million shares at a price of 0.72 Hong Kong dollars per share, raising a total of approximately 72.18 million Hong Kong dollars, with net proceeds of approximately 70.19 million Hong Kong dollars. The company stated that the funds raised will be used for the development and global distribution promotion expenses of the self-developed anime competitive shooting game "Kala Biqiu" in various platforms worldwide. In fact, this is the second time in less than ten months that Dreamworld has completed a share placement. On July 31, 2024, Dreamworld placed 119.8504 million shares at a price of 2.15 Hong Kong dollars per share, raising a total of approximately 258 million Hong Kong dollars. As of the close of trading on May 16, Dreamworld's stock price was 0.77 Hong Kong dollars per share, down 8.33%. In the afternoon of May 16, Dreamworld responded to reporters, stating that since the announcement of the share repurchase plan at the beginning of the year, they have repurchased over 20 million shares, with a total amount exceeding 35 million Hong Kong dollars. The company will gradually implement the repurchase plan in combination with business development and market conditions. In response to the poor performance of the stock price, the company will repay shareholders by improving business and operating quality, and is confident in turning losses into profits this year.
