The Dow closed up 300 points, with component stocks UnitedHealth rebounding by 6%, 3M up 2.9%, Walmart, Merck Pharmaceuticals, McDonald's, Johnson & Johnson, Nike and others rising more than 1%, Boeing down 0.2%, with Cisco performing the worst.
