The volume of container orders from China to the United States has surged.
After progress in the economic and trade negotiations between China and the United States, the number of containers booked by the United States from China has surged. According to data from the Vicino Global Shipping Order Tracking System, the average order volume in the seven days ending on May 14 increased by over 277% compared to the seven days ending on May 5. According to reports from American media, a shipping data analysis company in the United States predicts that as more American companies stock up, supply chain costs will also rise, and in the coming weeks, freight rates from China to the US West Coast could increase by about 20%. However, many American businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, are still worried that after 90 days, US policies may fluctuate again.
