The Ministry of Water Resources has launched a level IV emergency response for drought prevention in Gansu Province.
Reporters learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that recent rainfall has eased the drought situation in Hebei, Hubei, Guangxi, and other areas. The drought situation is continuing in Henan, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, and drought is developing in many parts of Gansu Province. The Ministry of Water Resources today initiated a level IV emergency response for drought prevention in Gansu Province; maintained the level IV emergency response for drought prevention in Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Yunnan provinces, dispatched key water conservancy projects in the Yellow River basin to ensure the water supply needs for drought resistance in provinces along the Yellow River; and increased the daily outflow volume of the Three Gorges Reservoir in the Yangtze River basin to create conditions for water intake in the Jianghan region of Hubei province.
