Cui Dongshu: The prices of conventional fuel cars continue to rise, while the average prices of new energy vehicles have gradually decreased recently.
According to the Securities Times APP, Cui Dongshu, the Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, released an analysis of the price segments of the national passenger car market. The prices of conventional fuel vehicles have been continuously increasing, with a significant shrinkage in the mid-to-low end of the market, while the high-end contraction has been slow. Therefore, the average price has risen from 150,000 yuan in 2019 to 183,000 yuan in 2024. With the high-end contraction accelerating, the average price from January to April 2025 has dropped to 181,000 yuan, with April maintaining at 180,000 yuan, indicating a decrease in the purchasing power of fuel vehicle consumers. Meanwhile, the average price of new energy vehicles has gradually decreased recently, from 184,000 yuan in 2023 to 171,000 yuan in 2024, and currently, in April 2025, it is at 161,000 yuan, showing a significant price drop and an overall active consumption of new energy vehicles.
