The Shanxi procuratorial organ has lawfully prosecuted Shang Xianfang for alleged bribery.

Recently, the case of Shang Xianfang, former member of the Standing Committee of the Changzhi Municipal Committee and former Minister of the United Front Work Department, suspected of bribery, has been investigated by the Shanxi Provincial Supervisory Committee and transferred to the procuratorial organ for review and prosecution. The case is now being further processed. During the review and prosecution stage, the procuratorial organ informed the defendant Shang Xianfang of his litigation rights and questioned him in accordance with the law, and also heard the opinions of the defense counsel. The Procuratorate of the Taiyuan Railway Transport Branch of the Shanxi Provincial People's Procuratorate accused Shang Xianfang of using his positions as the county mayor of Licheng County, Licheng County Party Secretary, Deputy Mayor of Changzhi City, and Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Changzhi Municipal Committee to seek benefits for others, illegally accepting money and property from others in a particularly large amount, and should be held criminally responsible for the crime of bribery according to law.
