In April, the national railway passenger and freight volume remained stable and increased, transportation safety was stable and orderly, effectively serving the country's major strategies and economic and social development. Since the beginning of this year, the demand for passenger travel has remained strong, and railway passenger flow has remained high. In April, the national railway sent 382 million passengers, an increase of 6.0% year-on-year. In the first four months of this year, the national railway has sent a total of 1.456 billion passengers, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year; passenger turnover has reached 5325.61 billion passenger-kilometers, an increase of 1.7%. In April, the national railway freight volume was 4.28 billion tons, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year. In the first four months of this year, the national railway freight volume was 1.681 billion tons, an increase of 2.0% year-on-year; freight turnover was 11651.21 billion ton-kilometers, an increase of 1.2%, driving the economy to continue to improve. In the first four months of this year, the national railway fixed asset investment reached 194.7 billion yuan, an increase of 5.3% year-on-year, and the construction of railways has been advancing in a high-quality and efficient manner.
