Foxconn approved to build a chip factory in India, Apple is determined to use Indian production capacity to meet the demand for iPhones in the United States.
According to the Securities Times app, Apple's core supplier and assembly factory, Foxconn, has obtained approval from the Indian government to build a large chip manufacturing plant worth up to $435 million locally. Reports suggest that Apple previously airlifted 600 tons of iPhones, and Foxconn's latest move will help diversify the supply chain ambitions of both this iPhone assembler and manufacturer and Apple itself, thereby reducing excessive reliance on Chinese iPhone production capacity and core electronic components produced in China in the new round of global trade wars.
