The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the United States for once again designating it as a "country not cooperating with anti-terrorism efforts".
On May 14th local time, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the decision by the US State Department on the 13th to once again designate Cuba as a "country not cooperating with anti-terrorism efforts." The statement expressed that the US State Department has again turned the fight against international terrorism into a unilateral political exercise against countries that do not comply with its hegemonic interests. In 2024, the previous US government removed Cuba from this list, recognizing the value of Cuban-US law enforcement cooperation, including in combating terrorism. Since then, Cuba's performance in this area has not changed. However, just hours after the new US government took office, Cuba was once again included in the so-called "state sponsors of terrorism" list. This action is part of the US's "maximum pressure" campaign against Cuba, promoted by those who ignore the truth. Cuba firmly and resolutely condemns terrorism and has always excelled in combating it. The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates that Cuba has never participated in, funded, or carried out terrorist acts against any country, and its territory has not been and will not be used for such purposes. The United States, on the other hand, cannot say the same about itself and should respect the facts.
