From May 12th to May 13th, the International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners (INTERCARGO) held its semi-annual conference in Guangzhou, China. Li Yanqing, Secretary General of the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, was invited to attend the conference and related activities. During the conference, Li Yanqing expressed that INTERCARGO and its members advocate for freedom and fair competition, oppose any monopolies and restrictive trade practices, and have maintained a close exchange and cooperation with the Chinese shipbuilding industry for many years, working together to address international risks and challenges and sharing the dividends of maritime industry development. At this semi-annual conference, discussions focused on the current international economic development situation, the impact of factors such as international trade disputes and regional conflicts on the international dry bulk shipping market, trends in maritime decarbonization and intelligent technology, providing a platform for direct dialogue and information sharing between the Chinese shipbuilding industry and international dry cargo shipowners. The China Shipbuilding Industry Association and INTERCARGO will deepen their exchange and cooperation mechanisms to jointly maintain international market order and the stability of the industry supply chain.
