Hong Kong and Kuwait signed a cooperation agreement covering multiple areas including investment and financial services.

The Hong Kong government stated in a news release that government departments, enterprises, and institutions from Hong Kong, mainland China, and Kuwait signed 24 cooperation memorandums and agreements covering various areas including trade, investment, financial services, technology, law, customs clearance and movement of goods, aviation, and higher education. The above-mentioned cooperation agreements were signed during the visit of the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, to Kuwait. According to another news release from the Hong Kong government, holders of Hong Kong SAR passports can travel visa-free to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates for up to 30 days. The visa-free entry period for holders of Hong Kong SAR passports traveling to Oman has been extended from a maximum of 10 days to 14 days.
