Hong Kong and Kuwait reach 24 cooperation agreements to achieve win-win cooperation.
Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam and her delegation attended a high-level business luncheon in Kuwait today, organized by the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, co-organized by the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce. The event witnessed the cooperation between the two regions reaching a new milestone. Together with the two cooperation memoranda signed yesterday, a total of 24 cooperation memoranda and agreements have been reached, covering trade and economy, investment promotion, financial services, aviation and maritime, higher education, legal professions, sports, and other fields, with fruitful results. Carrie Lam stated that the customs of the two regions will initiate negotiations for mutual recognition of their respective "Authorized Economic Operator Programs", creating a more efficient international trade environment for businesses. The Hong Kong Airport Authority and Kuwait Airways signed a new memorandum of understanding to enhance aviation connectivity and promote talent training between the two regions.
