Deputy Director Bai Qingyuan of the State Administration for Market Regulation presided over a symposium on supporting the development of individual businesses by platform enterprises, engaging in in-depth exchanges with representatives from individual businesses, platform enterprises, financial institutions, and others to understand the difficulties faced by individual businesses in their development and to provide suggestions and recommendations for supporting their development by platform enterprises. The meeting emphasized that individual businesses are an important part of the private economy. Promoting the development of individual businesses is a crucial measure to promote the growth of the private economy and is an important link in implementing the Party Central Committee's requirements to focus on stabilizing employment, businesses, markets, and expectations. Currently, the foundation for the sustained and improved economic recovery in China still needs to be further consolidated, and individual businesses continue to face pressure and challenges in their survival and development. Platform enterprises, as another important component of the private economy, can provide ample space for the development of individual businesses and can help and support individual businesses in various aspects such as digital empowerment, traffic support, and market expansion. It is encouraged for platform enterprises to launch more practical measures to support the development of individual businesses based on their own characteristics. At the meeting, representatives from individual businesses in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Sichuan, and other places, as well as the China Individual Economy Development Research Center, and representatives from companies such as Xiaohongshu, Alipay, Douyin, Pinduoduo, and Bank of China, exchanged views and made speeches. The meeting also reported on the operation of the "National Individual Business Development Network".
