According to the Smart Finance APP, on May 14, Hong Kong Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Frank Chan Fan, stated in the Legislative Council that the Hong Kong government has been actively and systematically promoting the development of autonomous vehicles in Hong Kong through policy support, regulatory cooperation, and financial assistance. The government has funded companies or organizations through the Smart Mobility Fund to research and apply innovative vehicle technology. As of last month, 5 and 8 projects related to autonomous vehicles and vehicle networking have been funded by the fund, with a total amount of approximately 170 million Hong Kong dollars.
