The National Development and Reform Commission signed two cooperation documents with relevant departments in Colombia to jointly build the "Belt and Road" initiative.

On May 14, 2025, witnessed by the leaders of China and Colombia, Zheng Zhajie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, and relevant departments of Colombia signed a cooperation plan for jointly building the "Belt and Road Initiative," and announced the signing of a cooperation document in the field of economic development. The two sides signed the "Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Colombia on jointly promoting the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road", promoting practical cooperation in various fields under the cooperation plan of building the "Belt and Road Initiative" to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. The two sides signed the "Memorandum of Understanding between the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism of the Republic of Colombia on cooperation in the field of economic development," and will carry out policy sharing and experience exchange in areas such as macroeconomics, promoting the "Belt and Road Initiative", economic and trade investment, sustainable development, and digital economy.
