Hong Kong Housing Authority: Average waiting time for public housing remains at 5.3 years, with elderly applicants able to shorten it to 3.3 years by applying alone.

According to the Securities Times app, the latest figures from the Hong Kong Housing Authority show that in the first quarter of this year, there were about 4,700 general applications for public housing allocation in Hong Kong, with approximately 440 applications from elderly individuals. As of the end of March this year, the average waiting time for general applicants who were allocated public housing in the past 12 months remained at 5.3 years. The average waiting time for elderly applicants has decreased by 0.1 year to 3.3 years compared to the previous quarter.
