Market Analysis: For Trump, who has long been obsessed with the aviation world, the key to winning his favor is airplanes.
The US President Trump's long-standing obsession with the aviation world proves to be an effective tool for governments and companies to please him. The American president is a well-known aviation enthusiast, who has named his private Boeing 757 aircraft "Trump Force One" and is seeking a luxury jet from Qatar as a new presidential plane. On the first day of his visit to the region, Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund ordered planes from Boeing worth approximately $4.8 billion. As he visited Doha on Wednesday, Qatar Airways also prepared to place a large aircraft order with the US aircraft manufacturer. The president flew to Saudi Arabia on Air Force One on Tuesday, a plane with nearly 40 years of history. While Boeing works on delivering the new aircraft, Trump has set his sights on another Boeing 747-8 aircraft from Qatar, hoping to receive it for free as a transitional presidential plane. For Trump, accepting such a lavish gift from this wealthy country on behalf of the US Department of Defense is effortless, as he stated on Monday that he would "never refuse such a proposal".
