The Attorney General of New Jersey stated on Tuesday that 3M has agreed to pay $450 million to settle a lawsuit over natural resource pollution caused by PFAS. PFAS, also known as perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are commonly referred to as "forever chemicals." 3M is expected to pay $285 million this year and the remaining amount over the next 25 years.
