The State Council Tariff Commission issued a notice adjusting the additional tariffs imposed on imported goods originating from the United States.
In order to implement the important consensus reached at the China-US high-level economic and trade talks, in accordance with the "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China", "Customs Law of the People's Republic of China", "Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China" and other laws and regulations as well as international legal principles, approved by the State Council, the State Council Customs Tariff Commission announced that starting from 12:01 on May 14, 2025, the additional tariff rate imposed on imported goods originating from the United States, as stipulated in the "Announcement of the State Council Customs Tariff Commission on Imposing Additional Tariffs on Import Goods Originating from the United States", will be adjusted from 34% to 10%, and the implementation of the 24% additional tariff rate on the United States will be suspended for 90 days. Starting from 12:01 on May 14, 2025, the measures imposing additional tariffs on imported goods from the United States, as stipulated in the "Announcement of the State Council Customs Tariff Commission on Adjusting the Measures of Imposing Additional Tariffs on Imported Goods Originating from the United States", will be stopped. This significant reduction in bilateral tariff levels between China and the United States meets the expectations of producers and consumers in both countries, is beneficial to the economic and trade exchanges between China and the United States, and is beneficial to the global economy.
